Route into the industry
We are always looking for professionals for various jobs on platforms or jack ups, such as Deckhands, Welders, Mechanics, Electricians, and Crane Operators. The required background and/or education depends on the specific position. In most cases, a relevant technical degree is required. Experience within the oil & gas or nautical industry is always needed. Additionally, you must have obtained all the necessary offshore survival and medical certificates. Nautical experience can be a requirement when working on a self-propelled jack up.
Jack ups are mostly used for servicing and accommodation projects, to serve production platforms and assist within the offshore wind industry.
Working in this field means you need to be in good physical condition. You should also take into account that you will be spending a considerable amount of time away from home, and will be working in rotating shifts with irregular working hours.
